Today, we pause to express our deepest gratitude to the courageous men and women who answered the call of duty on September 11, 2001, and in the difficult days that followed. As the son of a NYC police officer and the father of a firefighter I am supremely proud and grateful. These selfless individuals, our first responders, displayed unwavering bravery and resilience in the face of unimaginable tragedy.
In the wake of the devastating events of 9/11, firefighters, police officers, paramedics, and countless other emergency personnel rushed to Ground Zero without hesitation. They risked their lives, often working tirelessly in perilous conditions, to save others and provide comfort and aid to those affected by the attacks.
Their acts of heroism and sacrifice remind us of the extraordinary capacity of the human spirit to rise above adversity. They embody the very essence of courage, dedication, and selflessness, qualities that inspire us all.
To the first responders who continue to face the long-term health challenges resulting from their heroic efforts at Ground Zero, your strength and resilience are a testament to your unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of others.
As a nation and as a global community, we are forever indebted to you for your sacrifices, and we will never forget the profound impact you have had on our lives. Your bravery serves as a beacon of hope, reminding us to stand united in the face of adversity and to cherish the values of compassion, unity, and service.
To the families of those who lost their lives on that fateful day, we offer our deepest condolences and support. We remember and honor the fallen, and we stand with you in your grief.
On this day of remembrance, we reaffirm our commitment to never forget the sacrifices made by our first responders. We will continue to support and honor you, not just on this day but every day, for your dedication and bravery are etched into the fabric of our nation’s history.
With profound gratitude and respect,
